About A Celebrant Celebration Brisbane & Sunshine Coast

I am an authorised and accredited Civil Marriage Celebrant (CMC). A Celebrant Celebration was registered as a business in Queensland in 2006 and I work as a marriage celebrant throughout Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

I also have more than 20 years experience as a qualified Social Worker, educator and manager working with families, couples and individuals in the health and welfare sectors. This means I have a very good understanding of the importance of family and its role in society, including how vital it is for individuals, couples, families and friends to undertake certain rituals in their lives.

Reaching a special milestone is a time for celebration and a time for sharing achievements with family and friends. Assisting you to plan and officiate at your ceremony for that special occasion is what I do as a celebrant. Your ceremony can be as simple, or as elaborate as you want it to be, or as fantastic as your imagination allows it to be.

Sometimes it is hard to know where to begin. I can provide you with sample ceremonies and ideas about where to start, how to proceed and finally as the overall ceremony is drawn together, you will have the basis of a beautiful celebration with a day to remember. I provide you with a copy of your ceremony as a keepsake.

As the official celebrant for your marriage, whether it is in Brisbane or on the Sunshine Coast, I process all documents according to the law. Where there are no legal requirements, I provide you with a certificate in honour of your special day.

Getting Married?

Choosing a Celebrant

A Civil Marriage Celebrant can conduct legal wedding ceremonies only if the celebrant is authorised by The Attorney General’s Department. The celebrant is required to have completed an accredited education course to be authorised and registered and is also required to undertake continuous professional development in each year following initial authorisation to maintain and update current standards and practices.

Civil Marriage Celebrants operate under a Code of Practice.

“This Code of Practice applies to marriage celebrants (being registered under Subdivision of C of Division 1 of Part 1V of the Marriage Act 1961.”) Regulation 37L includes:

Application of this Code of Practice

  1. High standard of service
  2. Recognition of significance of marriage
  3. Compliance with the Marriage Act and other laws
  4. General requirements for marriage ceremonies
  5. Knowledge and understanding of family relationships services.

I welcome your inquiries and am able to offer guidance about any aspect of your ceremony. I would consider it an honour to be chosen as your official Civil Marriage Celebrant for your special day. I am based in Brisbane but I am willing to travel to be your marriage celebrant on the Sunshine Coast too.
